no clue. we've been trying to make it reverse, it's kind of like one of those freaky weekend movies, fortune cookie and all, but nothing's worked so far
[And he's got Dirk's sense of aspect, which means that he can sense people's souls in a way... it's all pretty inconvenient and a little bit frustrating, really!]
that's a tough question, prof. with my sword, it's not too distracting. i didn't even realize i had it until i summoned it for the first time, it feels like it's a part of me and if i think about it i can feel it there, past couple weeks aside
all that being said, i got something else from dirk too. he called it his sense of aspect--he can sense people's souls
it's kind of hard to explain, the first time i did it was by accident
but you said you can feel everything in that space, right? the same way i can feel my sword. you already know it's there, and that's your space, i don't think anyone else can access it unless you let them somehow
[How would that work? He's got no idea. He's just going off of what he remembers with his sword and what his gut tells him.]
so when i summon my sword, it's like i already know that it'll be here for me to grab, because i can feel it existing in that other place. there's no way that it WON'T appear
i don't know how helpful that is. but you can't question it or ask for whatever it is you're trying to summon, you just have to know that it exists and is there and believe it'll be there when you reach for it. if you don't believe you're going to close your hand around it, it won't be there for you
[It's odd, being able to talk about these strange powers with Dante in this way. He never thought he'd be going to the young man for advice on how to use his.]
Basically, you're telling me not to overthink it. Which, admittedly, has probably been my downfall so far, if that's the trick to it. How does one not overthink something as ridiculous as summoning things out of the blue? I feel like fool, reaching for nothing.
[Oh, like he could have ever passed up the opportunity for that joke!]
all very important things
it'll probably be easiest with the pens. sit down at a desk or table or something with paper to write on, then while you're thinking about what you're gonna write, reach out to grab the pen from midair
don't think about it too hard, focus more on what you're going to write. you can already feel the pen in there so you KNOW it's going to be there when you reach for it, so you don't have to focus on it so much
[Probably the reason why attempting to summon it back has ended in failure so far. He had focused on little more than the cap, because it was priority.]

Souls? That they simply... exist within a person?
now *i'm* the one that shouldn't be tagging when tired... ignore that he explained aspect twice...

[It's all very metaphysical.
They can come back to the souls bit in a moment.]
no worries, we are both gud rpers

[Trick question: the answer is none of them, after he and Yu got to them!]
what are some of the things that are in there so far?

Three pens. A bottle of aloe. Prompto's cap.

I'll do as you say and make an attempt. Honestly, this is all starting to sound like an exercise in meditation.

that's why i suggested the pen, it's mundane enough you can take your mind off of it
let me know how it goes

I will.
And thank you.
