Not that I know of. Lucian might have seen something, but I can't recall even hearing or reading of something like this. This is unique...
[she pauses.]
And I'm trying dreadfully hard to not let loose with a barrage of questions. It's not like you've come in for an examination - it's simply hard to turn the more professional side of me off.
[the more scientific side, which wanted explanations for the impossible.]
[Why is he not surprised? Even though this is only the second time he's met her, it seems to fit what he knows of her personality. Dante shakes his head, but the expression on his face doesn't change.]
Go ahead, shoot. I don't mind. I'll answer whatever you want to know.
[even so, she'll self limit the interrogation. they'd gotten off on the right foot, and he may not have all the answers she wants to know.]
The most obvious would be if you feel any different, physically, when using this. If there's any pain, numbness, or any more strange coloring you've noticed on your body. I'm all for experimenting with your power, but if it impacts your well being, that's something to keep in mind.
[They have gotten off on the right foot, and for that reason it's not as telling as it might have been that Dante actually thinks about it before he answers, sorting through the different instances of using it.]
Not really. I can feel a burst of energy when I use it, but no pain or numbness or anything like that.
[This is a warning that will feel oddly similar tomorrow when he's talking to Ardyn... but Dante nods, even though he can't be sure he isn't lying to her. This is not a boy with a good sense of self-preservation, you have to realize...]
I can't do much if I'm laid up in bed recovering from being stupid. I'll be careful.
That's why I'm trying to learn how to master this now, where I've got the luxury of messing up. Then if I ever need it for some reason, I'll be ready.
I haven't really had any memories of using it, but... I first used it when I was in a fight. It's the one time I've been able to use it without any trouble, and I wasn't even thinking about it. Maybe I used it for that, too.
[Oh, wait. That probably could use a little more elaboration.]
A lot of my memories have to do with fighting different creatures. I remembered how to fight a couple months ago, and when we were all shrunken down I got back a sword I used to fight with.
[if they're anything like hers, that'd be a marvel. the look in Grell's eyes is not the scientist demanding answers, but someone honestly curious.]
I don't mean to interrogate you about your memories, but some of mine have had fighting in them - or the aftereffects of such - and so I wonder how much we differ.
[Standby! Dante reaches into his pocket, digging out his cell phone (he's going to break that if he keeps falling with it in his pocket...) and sifting through his photos for a couple he took way back at the beginning of all of this.
The first one was this guy. A couple of the details are wrong, though; I was remembering two of them smashed into one. He was huge.
[And then he'll scroll to the next picture, a rather rude Darkball. First and foremost, about the bird and the little "fuck you"...]
Ignore that. The prof was doing his prof thing.
Aside from that I've remembered these little shadow guys that come up out of the ground and lurk around, these giant things called Behemoths, and a whole bunch of technicolor monster-animals. I don't think they're exactly the same as these ones, but I remember fighting against them, too.

[it's not like she won't do this later in the month, with more dangerous things.]
So far it seems to be beneficial, but do you remember what you used it for, aside from pulling off incredible stunts?

First he'll show her the combination Invisible and Darkside he'd drawn.]
