[narrations + overflow]

[A collection of narration bits that don't belong anywhere else from Dante/Riku's time in Recollé.]
[Or, a personal overflow.]

Is that all you've got?
[The taunt slips out of him without his even meaning it to, and he's not sure if he's directing it toward Sora or toward their shared enemies. But one thing's for sure, as much as he hates to admit it--this feels right. The two of them have fought like this before, side by side, using each other's strengths to their shared advantage.]

And then they're moving again, back to back, and their weapons are like they're made of light, moving forward and slashing back and forth to such a degree, that Sora isn't sure how they haven't hit each other yet. The hits from Sora aren't nearly as impressive as Dante's, but they're working. This is working.]

There's an unspeakable shift, a moment that passes again and the extended blades are gone, and instead a single blade glows into existence above them--glows before it fractures into copies, so many that Dante couldn't even think to count them fast enough. The blades circle around them, a ring of death that swirls as they spin and slice through their enemies. No longer does it matter that Dante holds a sword with an edge and Sora holds a pipe; these swords are all made of pure, fierce light, light that burns the Heartless as it cuts through them.
And as they continue, Dante realizes: there's an end to the Heartless coming. Their numbers are decreasing.
They're almost there.]

And then, the blades are gone, and the pair shift apart until they swing back together again. Their respective weapons are tossed into the air, but it seems that gravity has no effect on them for the moment, as they sit opposite each other as energy gathers at their tips.]
Let's go!
[One by one, the monkeys begin to explode into wisps, ravaging through the small remaining number of monsters that were left after previous attacks.]

Time's up!
[--the two of them are standing next to each other, facing in different directions. All of the monkeys are gone, the room cleared, and it's just the two of them, holding their weapons at the ready. Instinctively, Dante lifts his left hand, curling it into a fist for a fistbump he doesn't even have to look to find--because Sora's there, just as he should be, the two of them working together and wrecking anything that thinks they'll be easily beaten.
It's muscle memory, the way his hand comes up, but the bump of his fist against Sora's kicks his brain back into working, to remembering just who it is he's been fighting beside. Dante frowns, Soul Eater disappearing in a wisp of shadow as he straightens up, looking over at the other boy.
There's no sense in puzzling it out right now.]
Looks like we got 'em.

Sora doesn't put his fist down right away after Dante does, leaving it there for a few seconds while he tries to process what had just happened. He blinks again, clutching his metal pole in his hand, and looks around until Dante speaks.]
...Yup.
[What's he even supposed to say to the guy, now? He doesn't feel angry like he did the last time they met, but he doesn't really know what to feel.]

[Sora might not know what to say, but Dante does. He'd rather not have to repeat that fight if they can avoid it!
So he's headed toward the door--Sora can stay behind if he wants, but he'll be fighting alone if that's the case.]

[Sora scrambles after Dante, towards the door and out of the convention center. He'd rather not be here when those monsters come back. He can always separate himself from Dante once they're sure they're out of danger.]
