[It would have been nice but he didn't expect it, no.

Shuji pulls himself to his feet.]

Does your bingo square hinge on me doing this successfully?

[Because if so, maybe he should pick somebody else.]

I don't think so. It just says to teach someone a dance move, not to do it flawlessly.

[So once they get to Shuji faceplanting they should be fine I mean what no faceplants here]

If you can get that part at least, we can do the other half and call it a day.

[Ugh, fine. Shuji attempts again. This time it's extremely wobbly, but he doesn't straight-up fall in the process.]

Only one more thing, and it's easier.

You put your arm like this, so that your elbow's at your side, and then you lean onto that hand and kick your legs up.

[He only knows this because of a girl he'd known that had supposedly worked music festivals all along the coast. Dante presses his right elbow up against his side, leaning down until his face is near the sand, body's weight all resting on his feet and where his elbow is jammed into his side.

He puts his left hand down for stability... and then he kicks his legs up and off the ground, tensing up his muscles to control the movement and not overbalance and fall on his face. For a moment he holds himself up, balanced, and then he shifts his weight back to drop onto his knees in the sand.]

That's it. You don't even have to actually hold it. Just kick up and we'll call it good.

I'm going to fall on my face instantly. I'm warning you this ahead of time.

[Still, he tries it. Elbow on the ground, leaning onto that hand, and then kicking up - which immediately results in him losing any stability that he had and falling over, getting a faceful of sand in the process.

Excuse him while he spits some sand out of his mouth, gross.]

[Looks like he definitely chose the wrong person to teach this to. But hey, Shuji tried? Dante actually manages to keep from laughing when he tips into the sand, limiting his response to raised eyebrows and a somewhat sympathetic smile. Sand doesn't taste very good.]

You want some water to rinse? Better than the lemonade.

[Sorry about that, dude...]

[A nod while he wipes off his face with what part of his sleeve is still clean.

He really should have seen this coming.]

[Dante's just going to grab a bottle of water from their stuff, bringing it back and offering it to Shuji.]

That one's on me. Thanks for trying, anyways.

[After rinsing out his mouth, and spitting some sand into an empty cup, Shuji offers a weak smile.]

Did it check off your square?

[Even though Shuji was really bad at it.]

Yeah, that did it. I guess it was the intent that mattered, not being successful.

Har de har. I should've had you teach me this somewhere besides the beach, but then you'd have to leave your stand.

The ground's not as forgiving as sand is, though.
